About Mal

Hi I’m Mallory! Founder of Cereus Career Coaching and seasoned career strategist with a heart for helping people navigate transitions and rediscover their strengths while taking the next steps with purpose.

I bring over a decade of professional experience spanning the nonprofit arts world as well as the fast-paced realm of corporate headhunting. I also hold a degree in Arts Administration and am fluent in Spanish, which has helped me connect with a wide range of professionals across industries and identities.

Cereus was born from both personal passion and professional insight. I’ve always been inspired by the landscapes of the Southwest – so much so that I have a cactus and a night-blooming cereus tattooed on my arm! The cereus flower only blooms once a year, often in the dark, reminding me that the most extraordinary growth often happens in unexpected conditions. That belief is also central to my coaching: that beauty and purpose can emerge even in times of uncertainty.

I work especially well with mid-level professionals, people returning to work after a leave of absence, and those who’ve recently earned new credentials. Whether you’re in the nonprofit world, corporate sphere, or somewhere in between, I bring both structure and empathy to the coaching process, helping you create a path that feels uniquely right for you.

I live in Fountain Square with my trombone-playing husband and our two cats, Phoebe and Shelly! If you see me out and about, you’ll know me by my wild curly hair and likely a Pacers, Fever, or IU tee, depending on the season.

I believe that your career should reflect who you are and who you want to be – I’m here to help you make that happen.
